I place importance on including an individual’s cultural background, life situations, and personal goals in the treatment process. I have had over 15 years of clinical experience with a wide variety of diagnoses and life stressors. I speak Spanish and provide counseling to children, adults, and families. My specialty is working with individuals who have experienced a traumatic event(s) or abuse. I am a Certified Trauma and Loss Specialist through the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC) and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). When working with young children I incorporate directive play therapy techniques to help children in a way that is appropriate for their developmental stage. This process always includes education and feedback to the parents/guardians.
