Developing Idaho's Healthcare Workforce
Family Health Services is now a proud Idaho AHEC partner, supporting the development of Idaho’s healthcare workforce. As an AHEC, we connect healthcare students, professionals, and underserved communities through hands-on career opportunities and educational programs.
About AHEC
As a designated Idaho AHEC, Family Health Services is dedicated to bridging gaps in healthcare access and addressing workforce needs across rural Idaho. We focus on connecting students, professionals, and communities through innovative, hands-on experiences. Our role as an AHEC allows us to:
Enhance Health Workforce Development:
We offer educational pathways and support for students and professionals pursuing healthcare careers, including training programs, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Expand Community-Based Training:
By engaging with local clinics, hospitals, and other providers, we give healthcare trainees real-world experience, particularly in rural settings where there is a high demand for care.
Address Health Disparities:
AHEC centers like ours are pivotal in promoting health equity by encouraging future providers to practice in medically underserved communities.
Foster Collaborative Partnerships:
We work alongside local institutions, schools, and organizations to create educational opportunities that address community-specific healthcare challenges.
We are committed to providing high-quality care while nurturing the next generation of health professionals. We aim to make a lasting impact by focusing on underserved communities and prioritizing healthcare access for everyone in Idaho.
